Arrived in North Carolina!
August 29th, 2006 Posted in General UpdatesAround 3:30pm today, we pulled into the quiet town of Union Mills, NC. Prior to this, we just spent 3 nights with our dear friends Kim & Stephen at Fort Lee, VA. The campus of CIT (Center for Intercultural Training) is near the Smokie Mts., about 30 miles east of Asheville, NC. We were laughing because we really don’t know what to expect here! We know it is culture assimilation and learning how to stay emotionally and spiritually “healthy” while being missionaries. Yet this is so new for us and we feel like we should be at our desks at work. How long it is going to take for us to transition out of our old career lifestyles?
It is over 90 degrees here. The best way to describe our housing is a Triplex, the inside feeling like a small 3-bedroom ranch. However, we aren’t sure if we are sharing with other people yet, or if this is our own! But training begins tomorrow at 8am! And we are praising God for wireless Internet!
We will be here until October 14, I think. You can send us mail at:

We’re so glad that you got there safely. It must be weird to transition from working. I can imagine that it feels surreal…almost like the first day of college again. We love you and miss you and are praying continuously for you. Love, Sara, Ben & Braedan

YAY you guys are safe! Ok I hope training is awesome, and I just started to learn the Russian alphabet which I believe is the same and it seems so hard! So we are in it together as far as that goes! And my teacher wrote them on the chalkboard in her own cursivy way so they didn’t look anything like the ones in the book so I was forced to buy it. Love you!
